Sanet blocked countries for VPN Services (2025)
| China | Heavily Restricted | Only government-approved VPNs allowed. Unauthorized use is punishable. |
| Russia | Illegal for bypassing censorship | Only government-approved VPNs allowed. Others are banned. |
| Iran | Illegal without a government license | VPNs must be approved. Using them to bypass restrictions is punishable. |
| North Korea | Completely Banned | Internet access itself is restricted; VPNs are illegal. |
| Turkmenistan | Completely Banned | All independent VPN use is blocked. |
| Iraq | Illegal | Banned to prevent terrorism-related communication. |
| Oman | Illegal (for individuals) | Only institutions with permission can use VPNs. |
| Belarus | Banned | VPNs and Tor are illegal. |
| United Arab Emirates (UAE) | Heavily Restricted | Legal for legal use, but criminal if used to bypass geo-restrictions or commit a crime. Tourists have been fined. |
| Egypt | Technically legal, but heavily blocked | VPNs are widely blocked, and using them may draw attention. |
| Turkey | Heavily Restricted | VPNs are restricted; some are blocked. |
